Our Story

Your hosts are Carl and Peter Williams. We're two friendly brothers who share a rich mix of life experience, creativity, and a warm sense of humour and fun.  We were both born into a British Army family stationed in Germany in the early 1960s to British/Danish parents. Our early childhood was spent in Germany, Malta, England and then our teens and early 20s were in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Although always close, we parted ways several times when Peter worked abroad for extended periods in Mexico, England and Greenland, while Carl spent most of his early adult life in Denmark working and raising a family.

Over the years we’ve been lucky to work in many different and interesting fields. We both started off on promising careers in Scandinavian IT and media corporations, among them Ericsson and Egmont, but in our early 30s, we closed the corporate door behind us to open a cafe in Copenhagen which in turn opened up new paths to a adventurous, but somewhat less lucrative career in performance comedy, TV gameshows and radio.

From 1999 Peter based himself in Barcelona, Spain where he worked for digital start-ups and later founded his own Spanish language school and Barcelona travel website. In 2011 he was joined by Carl who waved goodbye to Denmark's cold, dark winters, and since 2012 they have operated a small but highly acclaimed private tour company showing tourists a more local and authentic side of Spain outside Barcelona at stunning destinations all over the Catalonia region of Spain, Andorra and the South of France.

Alongside our tour business, from 2014 we wrote a series of health books based on what we named the Stepbac method - a simple but very effective technique to better understand and manage lifestyle habits that impact daily health and happiness. Using the method ourselves has helped us to a healthier routines for things like diet, phone use, wellbeing, and everyday balance, which lead to a stronger sense of happiness, health, and a natural joy of feeling alive and well.

In late 2025 we moved permanently from Barcelona to the tiny village of Torrevelilla in neighbouring province Aragón, Spain and found the perfect setting for wellness retreats and other local tourism activities. We hope to welcome you here on one of our retreats soon!
